My goal as a teacher is that each student go away happy, with a unique quilt - not a copy of mine or any other quilt in the workshop.
My classes are mostly beginner friendly - and I want students to like the quilt well enough to make more than one. As quilters, the most precious gifts we give (other than our time) are those we make on our sewing machines. I want to help you make wonderful gifts for those you love!
I have been enthusiastically sharing my techniques with students since early 1993. My approach is casual and fun; I encourage originality and creativity. I have been quilting since 1987 and sewed many years before that. My first workshop was a strip-pieced landscape and I wrote a book about that technique, "Simply Landscapes" which was published in 1994 and now out of print.
My latest book is Circle Pizzazz, with C & T Publishing. I have had acrylic templates made to go with the book, and IF YOU BUY BOTH FROM ME, YOU WILL GET A DISCOUNT ON THE COMBO. This book is a little more challenging than the previous ones, probably more an intermediate level. Click here to to enter my online shop.
9 Patch Pizzazz: Fun, fast & Finished in a Day (C & T Publishing 2006) has sold over 70,000 copies! Rectangle Pizzazz was published in 2008.
I love teaching and traveling, and as a single woman I have the freedom to pursue both with gusto. My quilts are made and quilted mostly by machine - I'm a "pedal to the metal" kind of quilter, although I have discovered the joys of 'quilting by checkbook" - using the talents of my longarm quilter friend Lin Squires.
I live in Rocklin, California (30 minutes east of Sacramento).
